Mr. Paul Chau is a Senior Partner in the San Francisco office. He brings over 20 years of venture capital, private equity, consulting and technical expertise and currently focuses on tech investments as well as management of WI Harper’s information technology and medical technology companies in the U.S. He has previously been a Board Director for DivX (NASDAQ IPO), USI Insurance Corporation (NASDAQ IPO & acquired by Goldman Sachs), Maxic Technology (688458:SS), Ultriva (acquired by Upland Software) and LogicEase (acquired by CoreLogic). His investment history also includes Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), Equant (NYSE IPO), Tularik (NASDAQ IPO), Ooma (NSADAQ:OOMA), Solar Power Inc (NASDAQ IPO), Airy3D, Alpha Ring, Avaamo, Cnano Technology (688116:SS), Embark Trucks (NASDAQ IPO), GCT Semiconductor, Maxthon, Roadzen(NASDAQ:RZDN), Ultracision (acquired by Johnson & Johnson), Verisilicon (688521:SS) and Windyvale. Mr. Chau has been with WI Harper since 2001. Previously, Mr. Chau was at Walden International, handling investment sourcing and execution as well as portfolio management. He was also formerly at GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation), where he directed private equity and venture capital investments in the U.S. Before joining GIC, Mr. Chau was a Senior Consultant with BARRA (acquired by MSCI), a financial consulting company for pension funds and money management firms. Mr. Chau holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Canterbury.
