Drop, the smart kitchen technology company run by Dubliner Ben Harris, has signed a new deal with Electrolux.
The company has more than doubled its team in the past six months, growing to over 30 people across offices in Dublin, San Francisco and Zaragoza in Spain.
It has also signed a number of deals with kitchen appliance companies such as Bosch, GE Appliances, De’Longhi, Kenwood and LG Electronics.
The deals allow over 100 different machines to work with the Drop Recipes app.
“Electrolux is one of the world’s most reputable brands … we’re excited about this opportunity to work with them to create smart kitchen products and features that provide real value, every single day, to the people who use them,” said CEO and co-founder Harris.
The Drop platform, with its Drop Recipes app, holds a variety of step-by-step recipes that adapt to the appliances users have in their kitchen.
Mr Harris added that Electrolux is “an ideal partner” as the firms “share the same passion for great design and great food”.
Harris said that the partnership is “another step” in the direction of building a connected food and cooking ecosystem which would soon allow for a wide range of counter-top appliances from Electrolux to integrate with Drop’s smart-kitchen platform.
“We’re excited to partner with Drop and to further explore new ways of making cooking more simple and personalised for consumers,” said Electrolux head Ola Nilsson.
