Paul Lin is a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and leads the firm’s Irvine office. He is a member of the firm’s corporate practice and serves on its audit committee. Mr. Lin specializes in cross-border corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, real estate, regulatory and trade matters, and corporate finance. He also acts as outside general counsel for numerous clients, overseeing litigation across a range of areas including commercial disputes, antitrust, intellectual property, and class actions.
Mr. Lin’s clients include multinational public companies, Chinese state-owned enterprises, privately held businesses, and family offices, spanning industries such as technology, consumer products, infrastructure and urban development, automotive, green energy, and biotechnology. He represents several of the world’s largest consumer electronics and technology firms, as well as digital TV monitor manufacturers, in both transactional and intellectual property litigation in the U.S. He also provides legal counsel to a broad array of Asia-based clients.
An active speaker on cross-border M&A, Mr. Lin has participated in prominent forums such as the Caijing Conference in Beijing and the UCLA U.S.-China Business Law Conference in Los Angeles. He is also a lecturer at the University of California, Irvine School of Law and serves on both the Dean’s Board of Visitors and the Business Advisory Council. Deeply engaged in the Asian-American community, Mr. Lin sits on the Board of Directors of the Committee of 100, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that brings a Chinese-American perspective to issues affecting Asian Americans and U.S.-China relations.
